WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH

Monday. April 30th -

As we enjoyed our morning coffee and english muffins on the flybridge ~ charting our course for the next few days ~ we decided to stay one more day at Wrightsville Beach because we enjoyed the boating environment so much.  What a difference a weekday makes as far as weekend boating traffic goes ~ looks like everyone has gone back to work!

Today turned out to be a very lazy day - we think we both needed some downtime - doing domestic boat projects, laundry, making beds, etc etc.  After deciding to stay here another day, we said to ourselves "Selves, let's rent a car and see what Wrightsville Beach is all about" ~~ Seems to be a nice vacation spot - or even a permanent residence.  There were miles of nice clean beaches -
did not see any signs of decay on the beaches .  There weren't a number of tourist shops - which was kind of a good thing.

As we headed back to the marina, we happened upon a great restaurant tucked away on the beach, serving a great seafood menu.  Very very casual with moderate prices - The Oceanic.  Our waitress was Lauren and couldn't have been more pleasant.  We felt this was, by far, one of the best meals we have had so far on this journey.  From the Ginger Citrus Scallops with garlic mashed potatoes and chef's veggies (snow peas, broccoli, etc) to the Excellent Shrimp and Grits  -- (the sauce was outstanding).

Jan even had to stop at The Bluewater - where the music played last night to tell them how much we enjoyed the entertainment - video to follow!

Then we had to search for a smoke shop for Ed -- all of a sudden he had a cigar craving - Yeah!  Success!  Then we get back to the boat - and he decided them for another day!

So, Until Our Next Blog, Enjoy your Evening!

Ed and Jan
